Get Your Ethics CEUs Before the Deadline

It’s that time of year where I feel a little like Paul Revere. The CEUs are coming! As you should know, licensed mental health practitioners need to complete their biennial CEUs by September 1st, the deadline to renew your Nebraska license without penalty.

All licensees and certificate holders must complete at least 4 hours of

CE in ethics each renewal period.

Why was this requirement established?

Let me just answer that in the most basic way I can. Licensed professionals sometimes make poor decisions that harm clients and cost the licensed professional their license. My theory is that our personal needs start to override our clinical decision-making process. We can all pass a written test (Hello! You did that to be able to practice!) and yet when it comes to on-the-job decisions, we can be impaired by our good intentions, our personal needs, and our personal struggles.

No one wakes up and says, “Today, I am going to be unethical!”

We often slide into bad decisions. We are not in a good place ourselves which clouds our judgment.

Two upcoming online workshops are designed to help you!

Protecting your Professional Practice on April 17, 2026 – 3 CEUs, online only. Learn proactive strategies to safeguard your license, reduce liability, and respond ethically to professional challenges.

Hanging Out Your Own Shingle on May 29, 2026 – 6 CEUs, online only. Thinking about private practice? This training walks you through the ethical, legal, and business foundations needed to launch with confidence. Perfect for new graduates and those wishing to open their own private practice. (Pass this information to your students too!)

Stay tuned for our in-person summer training series coming to a city near you!
